With summer cookouts on the horizon, since we live in New England, it’s time to start thinking about which of our favorite bean recipes we’ll be making. Great beans don’t have to start with dried beans. These root beer beans in a crock pot start with canned beans, but by the time they hit the dinner table, no one would ever in a hundred years believe they started out as canned beans!
As the soda thickens and reduces while cooking, it adds just the right amount of sweetness, and makes a wonderfully thick glaze for these perfectly seasoned beans.
